Course details

In this unit you will explore radiological evaluation of the appendicular musculoskeletal system with plain radiography. You will learn the normal anatomy and the anatomical variants. You will survey the various conditions that affect the appendicular musculoskeletal system and develop a broad knowledge of clinical manifestations and relevance past diagnostic tests. You will be able to establish the significance of the findings and write a radiological report.

Learning outcomes

Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the anatomy of the appendicular musculoskeletal system and how this presented on plain radiography

Demonstrate a broad knowledge of the pathological, congenital and degenerative conditions that can affect the appendicular musculoskeletal system

Critically analyse and interpret radiographic images demonstrating a systematic understanding of the relationship between the image presentation and the possible pathological processes

Judge the significance of incidental findings and how they are managed

Compile xxx appropriately structured reports that document the key findings and demonstrate an accuracy of xx% C3

Critically reflect on and evaluate your own reporting practice drawing on experience of peers, comments from tutors/mentor, supported by current literature
